Ms. Orr brings a unique addition to our family here at St. Charles! As she is still in the early years of her teaching, Ms. Orr contributes fresh ideas and new concepts into her classroom. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. After which, Ms. Orr worked as a substitute teacher for APS across multiple grade levels at schools such as Petroglyph Elementary School and Seven-Bar Elementary.
Ms. Orr’s philosophy of education is that all students are unique and deserve to have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow in many ways. A goal of hers is to create an atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. She puts effort into creating a safe environment for students so they can focus on their studies and are invited to take risks. Ms. Orr believes that there are five essential elements to a successful classroom, the teacher’s role to act as a guide, for students to have access to hands-on activities, students should be able to have choices, students should have the opportunity to have a safe environment, and technology should be incorporated into the school day.
In her free time, Ms. Orr loves to read, participate in creative crafts, gaming and watching her favorite anime’s at home with her family! Ms. Orr is proud to be a part of the St. Charles community and is looking forward to supporting her students on the exciting educational journey that lies ahead.
